BA Insight Introduces User-Generated InfoSites for SharePoint

Enables Easy Creation of Collaborative Intranet Pages that Present Related Information

BOSTON, Mass. – April 29, 2015– BA Insight introduces User-Generated InfoSites, a new SharePoint application that enables users to easily create and share knowledge centers and intranet pages around topics of interest.  This improves collaboration and user productivity as new information from internal and external content sources automatically appears on the InfoSite while updates are delivered via email digests.  A dynamic InfoSite Directory allows for easy exploration and navigation across all published InfoSites, which can be personal, shared with other team members, or published more broadly across the organization.

User-Generated InfoSites can be accessed from any device and help reduce information overload by enabling subscribers to only see their selected topics, eliminating the need to search for content across multiple feeds or systems.  These sites are extremely easy to implement and do not require any extensive IT involvement.

The new User-Generated InfoSites include the following capabilities:

  • Create from search results, drag and drop, and other methods
  • Manage subscriptions and notifications from internal and external sources, including public feeds
  • Share and collaborate with other users
  • Personalize the organization and presentation of information
  • Aggregate multiple InfoSites into one interface

“User-Generated InfoSites provide users with the full flexibility to create, organize, and display up-to-date information on any topic while de-duplicating information and reducing clutter,” said Jeff Fried, Chief Technology Officer of BA Insight. “Examples of InfoSite categories that users can implement include project-based sites, such as new product introductions; knowledge-based sites, such as research topics; and organizational-based sites, such as HR policies.  Users can setup and manage these InfoSites extremely easily, eliminating the burden on IT.”
