BA Insight’s CEO Wins SharePoint Partner Vendors Discussion at KM World’s SharePoint Symposium
Washington DC - November 18, 2010 - BA Insight, an enterprise search software company specializing in Microsoft SharePoint Search and FAST Search 2010 technology, enjoyed the thrill of victory at KM World’s 2010 SharePoint Symposium, SharePoint “Idol” Partner Vendors Duke it Out session Thursday morning. The discussion between four well-known SharePoint 3rd party software and consulting firms was opened up and moderated by Tony Byrne, President and Principal Analyst of Real Story Group.
BA Insight CEO Guy Mounier faced off against experienced speakers from AKG (Applied Knowledge Group), AvePoint, and Newsgator, where each vendor showcased the best features of their SharePoint product in a 7-minute demo that was then judged “American Idol” style. The judges included Shawn Shell from Consejo, Inc., Alan Pelz-Sharpe from Real Story Group, and Jill Tabuchi from PPC, Inc.
AKG concentrated on overall services, AvePoint on their DocAve Archiving product, Newsgator on their Interactive Discussion capabilities, and BA Insight on Document Preview and Assembly. Mounier’s BA Insight demo highlighted the Longitude Search Document Preview functionality and concentrated on the new Document Assembly capability being released next month. The audience reacted enthusiastically to the new, highly anticipated functionality that provides a quick and easy way to add various documents, pages, and snippets to the research workbook in order to easily compile all gathered research into an assembled document, whether from a zip file, Word document, PowerPoint presentation, or other format. BA Insight captured first place with 35% of the audience vote.
