Turning the Lights Back On
February 5, 2007 |
It’s been a while since I posted…things have been busy and it just didn’t cross my mind.
BABOK version 2 is well under way. I’m currently working on the revised Requirements Analysis KA (note the new name) and it’s going to be a substantial revision. The last version of the KA included a number of tasks that were only relevant to software development, and a number of others which were better located elsewhere.
The new KA is likely to have about 5 tasks, which are currently:
- Structure Requirements
- Specify Requirements
- Model Requirements
- Determine Assumptions and Constraints
- Verify Requirements
Of course, the BABOK will still discuss issues like the difference between functional and non-functional requirements, for example, because it is relevant in a lot of domains. Just not all.
As for the models, my current list is down to:
- Data Models
- Process Models
- Motivational Models
- Quality of Service Requirements
- Scenarios and Use Cases
- Reporting and Metrics
- Usability
Why all the change? Well, I think I can get enough posts out of that to get used to blogging again, so you’ll have to wait…
