BABOK 1.6 Released
July 20, 2006 |
I am pleased to announce that version 1.6 of the Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge has been released by the IIBA and is now available for download at our website (www.iiba.com).
This version represents the result of several months of work by our volunteers and includes over a hundred pages of new material, including complete or nearly complete drafts of most of the Knowledge Areas. We have incorporated extensive feedback from the IIBA membership. This edition features a revised definition of the business analysis role, changes to the names and definition of two of the knowledge areas, and includes the first set of results from the Fundamentals KA.
We anticipate a further release of the Body of Knowledge towards the end of the year, which will define the final scope of the BABOK, align it with the forthcoming CBAP program, and integrate the content of the BABOK across all of the knowledge areas.
Version 1.6 of the BABOK will be reviewed by a committee of experts to ensure that the scope and structure are valid. We are not planning to put version 1.6 through a formal review process with the membership, although comments and feedback are always welcome.
On a personal note, I was elected to the position of Vice-President, Body of Knowledge by the IIBA membership at the AGM last week.
