IIBA Body of Knowledge version 1.6
June 8, 2006 |
Now that the date of the IIBA’s next AGM has been announced, I can say that version 1.6 of the Body of Knowledge will be published there, on July 12th.
Our contributors have done an amazing job to date. It’s considerably larger than the last version (1.4) with about 100 additional pages. It’s also about 90% “content complete”, meaning that there’s at least draft text in almost every section.
Between versions 1.6 and 2.0, we will be reviewing the scope of the BoK to make sure it’s complete, identifying inconsistencies that need to be resolved, bringing it into line with the certification exam, and doing a high level verification of the content with our newly-formed Board of Expert Advisors. That group consists of a number of well-known authors of key texts on our knowledge areas as well as representatives of various communities with an interest in the BoK.
If you want to follow the ongoing development of the BoK, you may want to check out B2Training’s Business Analysis Blog as well. One of the authors, Barbara Carkenord, is the chair of the Requirements Communication and the Solution Assessment and Validation subcommittees, and the blog will give you a good idea of some of the issues we’ve been wrestling with.
