Find and Act Upon Enterprise Content More Efficiently Using Longitude for SharePoint and FAST
Instantly preview and swiftly act upon all search result contents, regardless of its format or location

Instant, Rich Document Previews
Longitude Search is a fully integrated SharePoint solution which delivers rich, full previews of all search result content, regardless of file type or location. Supported formats include PDF, TIFF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, and many others.

Quick Relevance Assessment with Hit Highlighting

All previewed search results are fully hit-highlighted, enabling the user to assess relevance quickly and without the need to download the file. Preview sizes of 10KB means that time and bandwidth requirements are minimized.

User Friendly Preview Interface
Longitude's interface is fully integrated into SharePoint, is easy to use, and requires virtually no user training. Not only does Longitude provide users with a high-fidelity, Silverlight-based preview of all search results, it empowers them to act upon relevant content directly from the preview, with actions including copy/paste, email, and download, print, jump-to-file location, and more.

More than Just for SharePoint Content
Longitude previews are not limited to items stored within SharePoint, but are also available for content stored in any repository indexed by the search engine. Using Longitude Enterprise System Connectors, you can connect virtually any external content source.

Preview Document Library Content
Longitude's preview technology also extends to SharePoint document libraries. With Longitude, users can instantly preview documents within a SharePoint library, and swiftly act upon this content without having to download or open the source file.
Why this matters BA Insight provides a dramatically improved user experience that enables users to find information 10 times faster than with traditional search interfaces.

Typically, a user must download a file and manually search through it to assess relevance. Fully formatted instant previews of search results empower SharePoint users to assess relevance in seconds and without the need to download the file.

Using Longitude, users will find relevant content more quickly because they are reviewing 10Kb preview files, as opposed to downloading MBs of data just to assess the document.

Dynamic Hit-mapping
With Longitude, a user can act on relevant content directly from the search results interface the moment it is found, including format-preserved copy/paste, download, email, print, jump-to-file location, and more. Users can also easily build composite, fully-formatted documents and reports composed of content from multiple search results, transforming search results into real productivity.

Hit Map Navigation
Longitude's Hit Map provides a graphical representation of where all hits reside within the previewed document, enabling users to see and navigate to the most relevant page in a single click. Users can swiftly navigate the document by clicking on the hit map, and can update it dynamically by adding or removing query terms on the fly via Longitude's Search Inside feature.

In-Context 'Search Inside'

Longitude's Search Inside capabilities provide the user with full-text search within the previewed document. While previewing a document, a user can continue to search within the document by adding additional keyword(s), all with Boolean and wildcard functionality.
Why this matters Assessing the relevance of search results is a critical and often time-consuming task. Longitude's preview interface enables users to swiftly assess search results, and act on them immediately. Using Longitude's Hit Map, users can easily navigate throughout the search results document to assess relevance. Once relevant materials are identified (even from multiple searches), they can be compiled into a single document or report straight from the search results page.

Assemble Documents Using Search Result Content
Longitude enables precision and swift assessment of search result content for relevance, then lets users save relevant content to the Silverlight-driven Longitude Workspace, and assemble it in a variety of ways and in a variety of file formats – all while maintaining native formatting and image layouts. Users can build Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, zip files, or PDFs comprised of the relevant sections/pages of any number of previewed documents/items.

Take Relevant Content Offline
Users can search across content stored in a variety of data repositories, and add relevant documents to their Workspace with a single-click. This content can be easily exported to a zip archive for offline access and delivery.

Export to Excel
With Longitude users can run queries and mark relevant content by adding it to the Workspace. Within their Workspace, users are provided the option to export to an Excel workbook a comprehensive report detailing the selected content. This report lists all of the attributes of the selected content, such as Name, Location, Author, etc., for efficient targeting of flagged content at a later date.
Why this matters IDC, a leading analyst firm, recently concluded that assembling content was one of the most time consuming activities performed by information workers, and re-creating information that already exists is a significant problem within the modern organization.

With Longitude, users can find information more effectively, and act upon that information with greater speed and precision.
