The BABOK team is looking for feedback to help us finalize the content included in version 2.
If you look at BABOK version 1.6 (or the draft of version 2) you know that we included a few dozen techniques and referenced many more. However, we need your help to identify which of those tools, techniques, and frameworks you’re actually using in your job. This will help us to make sure that the ones we include in version 2 — and potentially in the next version of the CBAP exam — are the ones that really help business analysts be effective in their role.
The survey is fairly simple to fill out, and shouldn’t take you more than 5 to 10 minutes to complete. It includes only four sections, with questions about your job background and the types of projects you’ve worked on. Then, we’ll present you with a couple of lists of all the techniques that we’re considering for inclusion. All you have to do is let us know if you’ve used those techniques in your job, and if so, whether you use it occasionally or frequently. That’s it!
If you’re interested in the results of the survey, you can provide your email address to us upon completion, and we will send you a summary once it has been compiled.
We need as many responses as possible, so please feel free to forward this to anyone else you know who has done business analysis work, whether or not they are an IIBA member.
The survey is live now and will be open until October 31, 2008.
Thank you for your help!
